Terms of service
The rules of the darkroom
In force from: 4 October 2026
01 Who we are
CoverDrop (coverdropai.com) is run by codearchive (“we”). You can reach us at support@coverdropai.com.
By creating an account or using CoverDrop you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
02 What CoverDrop does
CoverDrop makes cover images for videos: 16:9 for YouTube and 9:16 for Shorts, Reels and TikTok. You pick a template or a blank page, type a title and describe the picture. We send the description, the template’s instructions and, if you add one, your photo to an AI image model (OpenAI’s), set your title on the result as real type, and give you a sheet of variants to choose from and download.
Generated pictures are made by a machine and can be wrong, odd or similar to other images. Look at a cover before you publish it.
When you start from a YouTube link, CoverDrop uses YouTube API Services, and by doing so you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
03 Your account
- You can sign in with Google, or with an email address and a password.
- An account is for one person. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use CoverDrop.
- You can close your account yourself, at any time, from the credits page: it shows what will go before anything happens, and asks you to type your email address to confirm. Closing removes your name, email address, sign-in details, sheets, covers and photos at once; the records of what you bought and of your credits stay, without your name or email address but with Paddle’s order numbers (see the privacy policy). You can also download a copy of your data there first. If you can’t sign in, write to support@coverdropai.com and we close it for you within 30 days.
- Credits left on an account are lost when it is closed. Use them first, or ask about a refund before you close it (see the refund policy).
- If your plan is still running, you choose how it ends. Either cancel it, and close the account once the month you paid for has ended; or end the plan at once as you close the account, the same day. The second way gives up the rest of the paid month, and the unused part is not refunded unless the refund policy says it is.
- After an account is closed, its email address is free again: you can open a new account with it, which starts empty.
04 What you may and may not make
You may only give CoverDrop material you have the right to use. In particular:
- Photos of people: only of yourself, or of people who have agreed to it. You confirm this each time you add a photo.
- No face swaps and no deepfakes. No likeness of a real person without that person’s consent: no celebrities, no one you are imitating, no lookalikes, whether from an upload or a description.
- No logos, trademarks, brands or copyrighted characters that aren’t yours to use.
- Nothing sexual, and never anything sexual involving minors. No graphic violence, nothing that shows or encourages self-harm, no hate and no harassment. Nothing illegal, and nothing meant to deceive people about who made it.
A photo is checked against these rules when you add it, and a sheet’s title and description before the sheet is made; we refuse what breaks them, and a refused sheet costs nothing. After repeated refusals (five in a day) the account can’t make sheets or add photos for the rest of that day. The image model also has its own safety checks and may refuse a picture; when it does, the variant is marked as spoiled and its credits are returned. We may also remove or stop serving anything that breaks these rules, and close accounts that keep breaking them.
05 Your covers
We claim no rights in what you make. Whether the law gives anyone copyright in an image made with AI depends on the country, so we make no promise about that; you are free to use your covers, including commercially, as far as the law where you use them allows.
You allow us to store and process your titles, descriptions, photos and covers only to run CoverDrop for you: to generate, show, keep in your gallery and let you download them.
06 Credits and payments
- CoverDrop runs on credits. Each variant costs the number of credits shown before you generate; current prices are on the pricing page.
- If a variant fails, its credits go back to your balance automatically.
- The monthly plan’s credits are for that month. Each time a month’s payment goes through, your plan credits are brought back to the plan’s amount: plan credits you didn’t use in the month before do not carry over. If a renewal payment fails, no plan credits are added for that month. Credit packs add their credits once, when the payment goes through, and pack credits don’t expire. Packs can be bought with or without the plan. Credits are used in this order: free credits, then plan credits, then pack credits.
- Credits have no cash value and can’t be transferred to another account.
- Free credits are a courtesy, not part of anything you buy. A new account may start with some, and accounts that sign in with Google may have their free credits topped up to a set amount at set intervals, as the pricing page says while the allowance runs. A top-up comes when you visit; a period you don’t visit is not made up, and free credits never go above that amount. Free credits are used before bought ones. We may pause the allowance (for example on days of heavy demand), change it or end it at any time.
- Paddle is our merchant of record. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle sells to you, takes the payment, handles sales tax or VAT and issues your receipts and invoices, and its Buyer Terms apply to the purchase.
- You can cancel the plan at any time; it stops at the end of the month you have paid for. Its plan credits can be used until then and end with it. Your pack credits and free credits are not affected.
- Refunds are described in the refund policy. If a purchase is refunded, the credits it added are taken back (in proportion, for a partial refund), and your balance can go below zero until more credits are added.
07 Availability and changes
We work to keep CoverDrop running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or that a variant will be ready by a certain time: generation can wait in a queue when it is busy. We may change, add or remove features and templates.
08 Warranty and liability
CoverDrop is provided as it is and as available. We don’t promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that a generated image will suit your purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost views or lost data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
09 Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and disputes go to the courts of Istanbul. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
10 Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top and tell signed-in users at least 14 days before a change that matters takes effect.
